Capacity building and training
GCNTDR develops, plans and hosts capacity-building activities both remotely and in member countries. The Centre’s affiliation with leading academic institutions enables the Centre to draw on a broad pool of expertise across multiple faculties and sectors to advance comprehensive NTD research that align with the global NTD road map, including the One Health companion document and global WASH and NTD strategy.
Travel and education grants (students and early career researchers)
GCNTDR provides travel grants to support participation in conferences, attendance at training courses, or to implement research projects. These small grants can be transformational for students and early-career researchers, enabling them to advance their research and gain exposure to environments they might not otherwise be able to access.
The next round of travel grants will be announced shortly.
Member research publications
GCNTDR provides its members with support to promote their research for example, through the annual Centre Research Highlights booklet, blogs, research events, or a focused special edition in a respected academic journal (monitor the website for announcments).
Research meetings
GCNTDR coordinates contributions to international conferences and hosts its own research meetings, both online and in person. Research meetings are an opportunity for members to share their research, and the internal member only meetings are an ideal forum for junior researchers to hone their presentation skills. Participating in international conferences is important for disseminating research and allows for broader collaboration, networking and exchange of ideas.
Communications and advocacy
GCNTDR is committed to supporting the dissemination of high-quality NTD research to inform programmatic decision making and promote evidence-based advocacy. The GCNTDR website is a platform for promoting new member research, news, blogs and events, including opportunities to engage directly with the Centre.
